Salvador Botanical Garden

In the neighborhood of São Marcos, in Salvador, the Jardim Botânico is an extremely important area for the maintenance, preservation and study of the Atlantic Forest, as well as being a leisure area, open for public visitation.

The revitalization of the Jardim Botânico, which covers an area of 160,000m², kept the original proposal of the space: visitation, preservation and research. The then mayor ACM Neto, in an interview with the newspaper Correio, highlighted the importance of the work. “It was abandoned. It wasn’t fair that Jardim Botânico was like that, firstly for the region and secondly for our city” he said, affirming that the city had no environmental policy.
