CHM Loft

The CHM Loft is located on one of the most traditional and valued streets of Salvador, Corredor da Vitória. The whole interior was modified, in which the use of light materials and wood were the predominant factor in the composition of the rooms. A white terrazzo floor, walls with wood baseboards and a cumarú wood deck delimitate the spaces of the loft. With the idea of amplifying the useful area, the original mezzanine was extended to the main window, to give more space to the dweller.

A delicate stair in white bent steel, covered by wooden boards and structured by steel cables, was integrated into the mezzanine extension. A sloop net, typical to Bahia, was also proposed, complementing the empty space in the mezzanine. This strategy provided an intelligent way to extend the superior floor, enabling new possibilities and uses for the spaces and permitting natural light and ventilation into the loft.
